Since I cannot write much yet about my AMAZING PALAWAN trip, here are some good finds I can share:
STAY:
In Puerto Princesa, for backpackers and easy-going people, this place is for you.
BANWA GUESTHOUSE AND ART CAFE
http://www.banwa.com/
It has a homey and cozy feel. Great and affordable food. They sometimes organize film viewing. I will definitely come back here.
In Port Barton, stay at Ayette's Bamboo House (0928-408-1551; 0915-829-9790). They offer nice cottages with own toilet and shower for 350Php to 450Php. Try their pancakes too.
If you need information about Port Barton, a really nice young lady - Bebe - can help you. She can also find you boats for your island hopping trip. Our boatman was Mark aka Puti and I can highly recommend him.
Tariff for whole day boat trip is at 1,500Php, inclusive of lunch.
In El Nido, there are lots of choices. We stayed at Ship Wrecked along Serena St. on our second night there. It is new and nice. 700Php per night.
