Cebu Province Adventure Part 2

I stayed for 2 nights in Moalboal. During the first night, I had a chit-chat and drink with Wolf, the Austrian that gave me a lift from Carcar to Moalboal, at the Chili Bar.

It was a very interesting conversation. Wolf is a free-diver instructor and interested in the Badjaos of the south and how they dive. I am looking forward for the outcome of his planned research and documentation.

The next day, I was thinking of going to the beach but weather, as I have said, is not cooperative. It rained the whole day, the one that is not so heavy but steady. Having no choice, I just wrote a letter to Germany and headed off to the Moalboal Town Proper and looked for the post office and a good native coffee (which I haven't found).

In Panagsama Beach, there is a museum! Yes, a museum - NAOMI's Bottle Museum... It is owned by a sweet lady Myrna Alvarez. She's got lots of different bottles with scrolls in them which she calls the "Scroll of Wisdom." She gave me a scroll and it talked about love. We chatted a bit about her collections and she offered me her self-roasted coffee. Finally, a good cup of coffee... which turned out to be not coffee but made of corn. Hmmm... I had such in Bohol but one can be really fooled that it is coffee. Myrna also offers computer and book rentals... and I can say that it is a must-see in Panagsama - something interesting! Too bad I got no photos taken of the museum.

Second day in Moalboal was almost to its end, rain hasn't stopped, and so I just decided to sit at Ate Chona's bar and have some drinks there. Next day is Cebu City (again).

Instead however of going straight to Cebu, I was invited by Ate Chona to pass by Carcar and have lunch with them... It was the town Fiesta... and I said YES!

...to be continued!

(Cebu and Bantayan Island)
