When Life Can Be Easy(ier)

I'm sitting at the moment in a cafe in Hanoi. Listening to a mellow instrumental background music and to the Vietnamese voices chatting. I am here in one corner, typing these words and chatting from time to time in a German website just about nothing.

More than a week ago, I'm still sitting at the office and trying to wrap everything up before I leave the country. That was stressful. Hours before my flight, I was also thinking of backing-out, cancelling my trip and just stay in the Philippines but I made my decision already - I want a temporary different life - a life of a nomad, a stranger.

And here I am. Wish granted. On the road already for a week now and got integrated quite fast. One week and I had so much "firsts" and amazing experiences. One of them will be the wedding in Hue, the wake in Saigon, the fruit-picking in the Mekong, and the long bus rides with different nationalities.

A week has passed and opportunities are now coming. All I know however is my next weeks. I will be in Hanoi for the next couple of days, then off to Cao Bang, then to Dien Bien Phu (to volunteer for a week at a school) then exit to Laos.

Regarding the one-week volunteer work, I might extend it. If it goes well and if I like it there. I am now looking for opportunities of staying here in Vietnam to have enough time to do a research and some more immersion on Vietnam's economy. This is for my long-term goal. But I also need to find something sustainable - I need to earn some money to afford the really affordable life here.

Things will be clearer in the next days. For now, I will just ride the tide. Laos and Cambodia, see you soon! ;-)
