Metro Manila

I live now in Metro Manila since mid-June 2012.  That was after more than a decade in Bacolod.

What made me move here?  In spite of everything I don't like about Metro Manila?

Simple -- I was offered a challenging assignment to work on a national policy.  It was enough for me to leave  the Negros Island Paradise I've enjoyed and now badly missed.  This is anyway for just a year or two and I can go back to Negros or try another island to call home.

So the adventure in the urban jungle has started and still I am just getting used to it.  I was always using the taxi to get me from point A to B since the traffic here is horrible.  There are trains but well, it is more packed than sardines tin.  And I am not really confident in using the bus or the jeepneys - I just don't feel safe.  In result, I spend a lot for transportation for comfort and safety.

Friends?  I've got friends here but seeing friends is quite tricky since we live in different areas of Metro Manila and getting together is a long discussion to decide where since people consider so many things.  Another difficulty to be faced in the Metro.  BUT, I sometimes see them if I manage to convince them to meet me in Makati.

And Makati, I am moving to Makati soon.  I am just looking now for a place that is just walking distance to office.  Walking distance meant at the maximum 2 kilometers walk.

So, let's see how I do in the urban jungle!
